Portugal, as you know, is the Mecca of golf. The nearest is Penina, easy 30 minutes, also Alvor, Palieres, a links course is 40 minutes. Wind-surfing and waterskiing are easily available on the coast. For all ages but especially the young the water slides never fail to thrill. The Monchique hills offer wonderful walking amongst orange trees, cork and eucalyptus. The west coast, 45 minutes by car, is dramatically beautiful and well worth an expedition. Here you can not only experience the big waves for surfing and untouched coast line, but you can also try the delicious seafoods.
The south coast beaches are 30 mins by car offer all water sports and though crowded in July and August they are still very beautiful and must be visited. |
